In the past decade, communication technologies and effective learning management tools have led to an explosion of online learning for both academic and training purposes. However, there is an argument to suggest that the integration of online learning environments in academia could be detrimental to effectiveness of teaching by institutions. It is because if this that a blended learning model emerged – blending physical and virtual environments.
